DTA Power Rankings: BOYS 5.24

Each week… this becomes more difficult. Absolute fireworks last night - it’s becoming less and less clear who is who making for an insanely interesting playoff season.

  1. BSM - This is the only easy one. Thank you, Red Knights. Undefeated and winning games comfortably.

  2. Edina - Winning games, defense looks stout, chip on their shoulder. Battled BSM for 3 quarters.

  3. Chanhassen - Interesting struggle against Buffalo, but, still taking care of business

  4. Shakopee - Have had their moments, but, grinded their way to an SSC title last night

  5. Lakeville North - Some tough SSC losses. Still a very good team with electric offense and face off. Defense needs work

  6. Maple Grove - Slow and steady… getting the job done. Athletic and efficient. Need to figure out FO’s

  7. The Valley - Tough loss to Rosemount, still solid team, is the depth there? Do they rely too much on two guys?

  8. Stillwater - Haven’t looked dominant, but, still 10-2 right now, thats all that matters - section 4 is wide open

  9. St. Thomas Academy - Solid team that has played a tough schedule. Should be ready for playoffs

  10. Prior Lake - They have won 7 in a row. They will say they are a “bad team” but they are not.

  11. Eagan - Cardiac Cats. Love drama. Love one goal games. My favorite team to watch. Tony has the boys rollin’

  12. Rosemount - Hot and Cold. Quality win against The Valley last night. Lots of close losses. Who are they?

  13. Woodbury - Solid 11-2 record. Not the toughest schedule. “Quality Losses” to Stillwater & Eagan

  14. Moorhead - Quality win against Shakopee and snuck past tonka & Hill-Murray. Love one goal games

  15. Armstrong - Can score goals, have looked good against bad teams, quality losses to MG and Eagan

  16. Jefferson - their losses have been to top teams. Probably better than record shows

  17. Eden Prairie - lots of close games, like Jefferson, losses are to teams in the top 10. Tough team to play

  18. Wayzata - the third of the tough schedule/close game group. Defense is solid

  19. Cretin - Derham Hall: Played STA close last night, having a much better second half of the year

  20. Chisago Lakes - dropped their first game last night. Still a good team, but weak schedule hurts them

  21. Hill-Murray - Nice win against Mahtomedi, quality losses to STA, Valley, CL and Moorhead

  22. Mahtomedi - hot and cold team, quality losses to teams above them, wins against Centennial & EP

  23. Centennial - tough schedule, behind Maht because of head to head. Quality losses to MG, BSM, Armstrong.

  24. Tri-Mac - very weak schedule but dominating. Hard to compare them to some of these other teams

  25. Rochester Mayo - weak schedule, loss to Wayzata, but nice win against STMA

HM: Rogers - On a heater, completely turned their season around. Awesome reg season finale against Centennial tonight
