Game 3 Recap – State Tournament:  BSM vs Chanhassen

BSM representing Section 5.

Chanhassen representing Section 2.

Very action packed first half until BSM put the clamps on Chan to win 17-6.

Very fast paced game.  Especially to start.  BSM controlled the draws for most of the game, but Chan kept it tight for the first 15 min or so.

The refs let them play a lot more than the first two games.  Thank god for that!

Scoring was evenly spread for each team, but BSM took a 9-5 half time lead.

Feels like the story is really the BSM second half ride and defense.  Only allowing 1 goal in second half.  It was really relentless pressure, which them led to a ton of fast breaking goals.

The game got chippy, but not overly so.  Chan’s fans were vocal – per usual.  Once they got it to running time, BSM to their foot off the throat and stalled out the rest of the game…got a little sloppy, but the Scarlet Knights didn’t need to add more salt to the wound.

We’d be willing to bet BSM’s 10-9 loss to Chan in regular season came up more than once this week.

Goals for Chan:  Allie Welder 1, Cassidy Bergstrom 1, Hannah Grimm 1, Gabby Bjugan 1, Tatum Nyen 1, Aly McPartland 1

Goals for BSM:  Lauren Hillins 2, Charlize Vang 3, Maddie Kalstas 3, Maggie Graczyk 2, Karsyn Elliott 3, Julia evens 2, Fayedra Vang 2
