Thursday April 10, 7:00 PM: Hill-Murray @ East Ridge, Stream on NSPN (pay)

In an attempt to offend the sensibilities of DTA contributor, Jeremy Goltz, this was a defensive battle throughout. With that defense came a litany of whistles and yellow cards.

To be totally fair, both goalies played really well, contributing to the low scoring.

East Ridge controlled the pace of the entire game, led by Keira Limpert dominating the draw circle. They held a 2-0 lead late in Q2…but the Pioneers scored late to make it 2-1 at half time.

The Raptors edged out to a 6-2 lead late in the game before H-M scored two late to make it a 6-4 final.

Keira Limpert (ER): 2g, 3a, 9 DC

Violette Finnigan (ER): 10 saves for 71.4%

Maci Szybatka (ER): 2g

Mac Murphy (HM): 1g, 2a

Regan Jarvis (HM): 2 g

Phoebe Ackley (HM): 9 saves for 60.0%

Friday April 11, 4:30 PM: Southwest Christian @ Farmington, Stream on GameTime Media (free)

First off. Injuries suck. This season is so short that any injury basically wipes out half of a season, best case. And many are way worse. Shout out to Caprese Meier, who was recognized pregame. Also, shout out to Gisella Harder, who went down in Q2 of the game with a lower leg jury that looked very serious. Two seniors, who’ve undoubtedly worked hard for years. Hopefully Harder’s injury is way better than it looked.

SWC jumped out to a 4-1 lead late in Q1…only for farming to score 2 quick goals near the end of the quarter. 4-3 SWC at the end of the first.

Farmington stayed hot and scored 3 more goals, to take a 6-4 lead, when Harder went down with her injury.

SWC remarkably stayed focused after the injury and tied the game 7-7 at half.

However, Farmington, led by Jaida Steffes’s 9 point show, was just too much with Farmington earning the victory 12-9.

Jaida Steffes (Farm): 6g, 3a, 5 DC

Riley Wicklund (Farm): 2g, 1a

Amanda Kubes (Farm): 2g

Friday April 11, 7:00 PM: Buffalo @ CDH, Stream on NSPN (pay)

Guess what? Jordin Rosga still knows how to score!

Yellow cards might have been a focus for the refs this preseason…2 YCs before Q1 was over…meshes well with the VERY clear emphasis on horizontal calls…always fun when the game gets focused on the refs more than the players.

Slightly disjointed Q1…CDH scored 1st (Rosga) and Buffalo answered quickly thereafter (Eng). 1-1 after 1.

Scoring picked up in the 2nd with the teams trading goals to start with…but Buffalo edged out to a 5-2 lead midway Q2, led by Danika Eng with 3 2nd quarter goals…before Rosga scored her third of the game to make it 5-3 at half.

CDH made all the adjustments at half time and scored 3 quick ones to take a 6-5 lead. Eng stopped the run, scoring her 5th of the game, 6-6. Jane Stangler caused a turnover, go the GB, rand down length of field and scored with 22 sec left in Q3 to put CDH on top, 7-6.

Rosga opened up scoring in 4th, to extend the lead to 2. The teams traded goals back and forth until CDH scored a few in a row to go up 11-7. Buffalo scored the final to make it 11-8.

Jordin Rosga (CDH): 6g, 1a

Lilly Selander (CDH): 1g, 2a (8th grader…FYI)

Annie LeClair (CDH): 1g, 1a (let’s hope her injury is not serious as well)

Caroline LeClair (CDH): 13 saves, 61.9%

Danika Eng (Buf): 5g, 1a

Bailey Mischke (Buf): 2g

Rory Meyer (Buf): 10 saves, 47.6%

Saturday April 12, 12:30 PM: Prior Lake @ Stillwater

Game of the week with preseason 1 vs preseason 3.

Prior Lake jumped out to a 4-1 lead after Q1.

Indi Capelle (Stillwater) then dominated the draw for the rest of the game, to keep things from getting out of hand, but Prior Lake did Prior Lake things to lead 7-2 at half.

Some quality saves on both sides kept the scoring under control, PL led 9-3 after Q3.

Stillwater traded goals, and scored one late, but not enough. 11-6 PL over Stillwater.

No stats yet from Stillwater - shout out to Katie for giving us PL notable stats.

Abby Grove (PL): 4g

Emmie Mattox (PL): 2g, 2a
