What Happened Last Year
Section 6 isn’t what it used to be as PL ran wild:
Semifinal 1: #1 Prior Lake beat #4 Bloomington Jefferson, 21-3
Semifinal #2: #3 Edina beat #2 Rosemount, 9-6
Section Final: #1 Prior Lake beat #3 Edina, 18-1

Prior Lake
2025 Abby Grove (Prior Lake) - Committed to Rutgers - D1
47g/16a/63 points coupled with 28 GB/21 FT/121 DCs.
2027 Madelyn Beaulieu (Prior Lake)
Projecting a little here, but the then freshman found playing time in the state tournament, on the #2 team in the state, taking the draw at the end and in OT of the state semifinal game. Going to eat up a lot of the stats (namely 82 DCs) that Sadie Chappuis took to Colorado Mesa.
2025 Tali Baldzicki (Prior Lake) - Committed to Grand Valley State University - D2
37g/27a/63 points….attacker goes left and right handed and is a great compliment to Grove’s frenetic pace.
2025 Lauryn Knutson (Prior Lake) - Committed to Wingate - D2
Missed 2 games, but still had 22g/24a/46 points for the Lakers. There are assists to be had in the laker offense, as Knutson proved.
Rosemount
2027 Abi Harris (Rosemount)
We talked about this before, but was injured mid season last year and is probably still on the rehab stint. 32g/28a/60 points in 10 games is wild as a Freshman and deserves a line here.
2025 Aubrey Zaun (Rosemount) - Committed to Florida Tech - D2
Took a hit stats wise for the better of the team, 29g/14a/43 points along with 70 DC. She’s the rock that the team is leans on.
2025 Emma Theisen (Rosemount) - Committed to St. Ben’s - D3
34g/10a/44 points.
Edina
2025 Lyric Busby (Edina) - Committed to Cincinnati - D1
Only played 8 games and was fighting injury in the games we did see her play. 2024 stats don’t matter in this case.
2026 Kathryn Ewers (Edina)
Also only played 8 games, but managed 46 DCs in that time.
2027 Suri Austin (Edina)
Third 2027 in this section - 2027 is shaping up to be a fun season. 30 points and 55 DCs - she’ll play a lot the next 3 years for the cake eaters.
Bloomington Jefferson
2025 Kylie Jones (Bloomington Jefferson)
Swiss army knife for the Jags, 48g/18a/66 points and 51 GB/36 FT/97 DC.
2025 Bea Ruble (Bloomington Jefferson)
Not too far behind Jones…34g/27a/61 points with 39 GB/21 FT/46 DC.
2025 Molly Jensen (Bloomington Jefferson)
Led team with 32 assists - love the selflessness feeding the rest of the squad. Deserves a slice of press.
2028 Karly Lind (Bloomington Jefferson)
2028 with 39 goals? You just made the list!
Projected Items of Interest
Bloomington Jefferson has a lot of good going for them. They essentially didn’t lose any of their scoring, have a balanced set of players from each class, has a 2028 that popped off for 39 goals…about all that we can critique is that their primary goalie graduated. The only games that got away from them was BSM (16-5) and Prior Lake in the semifinals (21-3). Otherwise, their losses were tough outs to Rosemount, Orono, Chanhassen, and Chaska. If they have the goalie situation figured out, they’ll continue to be pests.
Feels (seems) like Shakopee might on the start of a rise. A year or two away, but its worth monitoring.
Holy Angels…part of the Down the Alley coaching tree, you like that! Has lots of pieces coming back and shoudl have some fun with their schedule.
Eastview has a youth program that made waves last year…long term view here.
