Game 5 Recap – State Tournament Semi Final: Edina vs Stillwater

Let’s be super clear.  This was a great game.  Its just too bad the best girls lax game (yes, better than South vs PL, given the stakes) came right after this.

Stillwater started being in control, with Edina looking maybe a touch tentative.  That didn’t last all that long.

Stillwater started up 2-0.  Looked like they were going to burn Edina’s house down.  Editors note:  they didn’t.

Edina, after being down 2-0, went on a 5 goal run.  How?  They ramped up their pressure and their studs started being studs.

Score was 6-5 Edina at half.

Second half:  this is probably unnecessary to say, but Mary Velner is fast.  Like faster than you think she is when we say she’s fast.

Game was back and forth to start and Elle Busby hadn’t scored…and then she twice and basically iced the game.

Edina wins 10-7.
