Instant Reaction
Lots of college commits with a lot of production leaving. Lots of college commits and lots of production coming back.
Stillwater had 9 players with double digit goals and 11 players with double digit points! This is the numbers telling the story of a solid program and not a team relying on a few stars…which is why Stillwater is a contender year in and year out.
The Future
Indi Capelle made her debut mid season and demonstrated her ability in the draw circle. Digging a little deeper into her off season, Miss Capelle was an all-star at the 2023 UA150 Showcase for her class, as well as earning a spot at the American Select Showcase.
It also appears she’s had a few changes to her club scene, playing for a new club in MN in 2023-24 and adding on Team 180 out of CO.
Stat Crusade
In our crusade on assist percentage…Maple Grove assisted 80/240 goals scored…33.3%. Lowest of our top 7 teams.
For the record, our top 6 teams were 59.1%, 50.1%, 34.8%, 67.4%, 58.7%, 55.7% and 33.3%.
2024 Schedule?
Stillwater has 11 games in the books so far, highlighted by Prior Lake, CDH, East Ridge, Park, Woodbury, and Lakeville South.
You know what would be a great regular season game? A section 4 match up against our favorite charter academy. Hopefully Stillwater has the spot open in March when the academy gets around to setting their schedule. This source would be making a personal appearance for that one.
Interesting Nugget No One is Talking About
11. That is the number of 2024s Stillwater has returning. Basically half of the team are 2024. That’s a little wild. They 100% have contributors…and 100% have an ELITE youth program (who then ride the winds to a large variety of other teams), but that’s a senior laden team.
In Conclusion
We are super excited about a section 4 rematch between Stillwater and Gentry. They have strangely (or maybe not as much) similar roster make ups with a large 2024 class, smaller 2025 class, and some very robust younger classes.
Honestly – coin flip.
