Moorhead 6 @ Buffalo 13

Game 1 of a back to back doubleheader for the Spuds.

From our friends at The Hub, it seems like a consistent win for Buffalo. We have been hearing the start of a ground swell around the Buffalo team. Not a super good loss to CDH, but 3 really solid to dominant wins since…we need to keep a closer eye on the Lady Bison. But let’s not forget about ERZ…

No stats for Moorhead.

Hattie Toussaint (Buf): 5 goals, 2 assists

Bailey Mischke (Buf): 4 goals, 1 assist

Rory Meyer (Buf): 10 saves, 62.5%

Orono 12 @ Rosemount 14

Tough week for the Spartans. Might be a tougher week ahead.

Back and forth game as the teams traded goals and leads in the first half. Rosemount up 3-2 after Q1…Orono up 6-4 at half time.

More of the same…but with Orono keeping a 2 goal lead mid way through Q3…only for Rosemount to come back and tie the game up twice. Orono scored 3 straight to end the quarter up 11-8.

Orono tightened up big time in Q4, scoring only 1 goal for the rest of the game…and Rosemount pounced…scoring 6 goals, and snathing the win away, 14-12.

Rosemount is 3-0, starting with 3 home games. They have 4 straight on the road, including going to Lakeville South on Tuesday.

Orono has St. Louis Park, Chanhassen, and Minnetonka this week. Sure…this might not be your older sister’s Chanhassen squad, but they fought really hard for a half against PL…and we have a feeling that Minnetonka is a little annoyed at the pub that Orono has received.

Izzy Mroczenski (Rose): 4 goals

Emma Theissen (Rose): 3 goals, 1 assist

Ella Stacy (Rose): 3 goals, 1 assist (8th grader)

Layla Nick (Oro): 4 goals

Dylan Collins (Oro): 6 goals, 1 asssist

Moorhead 2 @ Gentry 21

Tough weekend for the Spuds.

OK…we wanted both of these squads to play tougher competition…glad they matched up. Pretty safe to say Gentry made a statement of where they might be in the state…and safe to say Moorhead has a few thigns to go back to the drawing board on.

We weren’t there, but had a source check in…and reported back that Sam Hohn scored 10 goals…too bad the Gentry stat takers and The Hub disagree (they had her for 11 goals). 11. Fricking goals.

Izzy Anderson “chipped” in with only 6 goals and an assist.

We bet Gentry wants Stillwater…too bad they have a long road before that has a chance of happening.

Sam Hohn (Gen): 11 goals, 2 assists

Izzy Anderson (Gen): 6 goals, 1 assist

Ava Davis (Gen); 7 saves, 77.8%
