Game Notes 5/15 & 5/16:  Chaos is Brewing

These are way easier to write than watching an entire game and doing a 500 word recap, with goal stats…might be seeing more of these until we get near the end of the season.

May 15

Armstrong 4 @ Champlin Park 14

This is a dual part game…CP showing they are real and Armstrong maybe not as much.  We loved getting chirped by Armstrong for even ranking them in the first public power ranking.  The job is getting easier on that one.

Elk River/Zimmerman 14 @Centennial 7

Another non-section, but North side game, ERZ is showing they might be the class of the North, after a bumpy start.  They play Champlin Park today (May 17) – we should probably wait to post this!

Cretin-Derham Hall 9 @ Chanhassen 11

One team on the rise and looking to make a mark, the other team in a funk looking to break out.  Really good match up and timing for this game.  Chan showing that they might not be what they were, but they aren’t done yet.  CDH…the lights are pretty bright on the SW side of the metro, as far as lacrosse goes…keep grinding.

Eastview/Eagan 9 @ Hopkins 8

Hop is a semi darling, but might be coming back down a little.  EV/E has a couple of legit players, so no shame.  Just don’t see a deep section run for Hop…but we’d LOVE to be wrong.

May 16

Bloomington Jefferson 22 @ Chaska 8

Jefferson is no joke.  Scoring 22 and only allowing 8 to the Josie Lakosky scoring train (averaging 10+ points per game)!  Jefferson and Rosemount for the 3 seed in section 6 is shaping up to be a really good race.

Chanhassen 10 @ Benilde St. Margaret’s 9

We’ve been really hard on Chan lately, but are very happy to hold our hand up, when proven wrong.  Chan might be doing that to us now.  We saw a path to the CDH win…we did not see a path on this one.  Great back-to-back days!  BSM…this is one we really thought you’d have to solidify your standing…need to bounce back, because Maple Grove should not be taken lightly in sections.  Just ask Blake.

Eden Prairie 15 @ Blake 14

EP got the rematch of basically the first 10 MN state championship games.  EP has players, pedigree, and pride.  They aren’t going away and they see some flaws in Chan.  Section 2 could be really fun to watch.  Blake is suffering from some injury bugs, and just might not have enough firepower…but that whole players, pedigree, and pride bit applies to them as well.

Buffalo 7 @ Minnetonka 8

Buffalo…we had so many hopes pinned to you.  Section 8 #1 seed.  Making some noise.  Tough year on Bison Blvd.  Minnetonka…we had so many hopes pinned to you.  Section 2 #2 seed.  Making some noise.  Tough year if your parents own a yacht.  You both can turn this around – please don’t make us look as clueless as PMAC.
