Game Notes 5/17:  Chaos is Brewed

May 17

Champlin Park 11 @ Elk River/Zimmerman 8

Congrats Champlin Park…you are the class of the North of teams not called “Maple Grove” of “Stillwater” (right now), and we are really happy we pumped your tires so much…last year.  Very happy to have been proven wrong this year (so far).  Sources are saying that CP’s defensive pressure, especially in the passing lanes, proved to be too much to handle. Has to be your section 7 #1 seed.

St. Louis Park 12 @ Hopkins 13

P-MAC loves him some Hop, so we keep pushing the narrative.  Winning close games is fun.

Armstrong 5 @ Andover 6

Armstrong – your wish is our command – we are going to not rank you in the power rankings…or are we?

Park 7 @ Cretin-Derham Hall 5

In what will likely decide the section 3 top seed, Park slowed down the greatest show on St. Paul private school turf. We actually watched this game…here are some info:

  • 7 yellow cards

  • Park scored 3 goals in final minute of first half

  • Shelby Hansen had 4 goals and Josie Leonard had 3 goals for Park

  • Jordin Rosga had 3 goals and Sofia Watts had 2 goals for CDH

Tough week for the Raiders.

White Bear Lake 6 @ East Ridge 7

In the “teams keep beating each other” division of the NE metro, WBL fell to a wobbling East Ridge squad.

Gentry Academy 14 @ St. Croix Prep 2

In PMAC’s girls upset of the week…Gentry slaughtered SCP in the apparent battle of charter schools. Clueless minds continue to rule the airwaves.
