First Games of 2023

DTA Nation,

The first boys game of the year is a tie between Shakopee vs Jefferson and Southwest Christian vs Holy Family according to MNlaxhub.com which allows me to provide my first two predictions of the season, but also raise a topic of discussion. 

We have many teams starting games 10 days after the first day of the season, while some teams are starting scrimmages this week and don’t have their first game for much time.  There may be a few reasons for this that are on my radar, what are some other factors that come into play?

·       Spring break causes a delay in some teams start date to a already short season

·       Scrimmage schedule before games start

·       Wanting to jump into games quickly vs wanting to practice longer before first game

Here are a few that I am aware of, what are some other reasons for the disparity in teams first game day? 

Now to my predictions;

1.       Jefferson win by 2, over under set at 12.5

2.       HF and SWC goes to OT for the first OT game of the year
