Sandwich rankings for the SZN

DTA Nation,

It’s the season which means my diet has been thrown out the window with the schedule, team dinners, and bus ride sandwiches.  This is a public service announcement, and I am pretty sure Ted will have my back on this one, Subway SUCKS.

Why does subway suck you may ask?  They are the slowest sandwich makers in all of the land, there is not one single employee that works at Subway that Jimmy Johns would even consider interviewing, non the less hire.  If a resume comes through the door that says former sandwich developer at Subway, that resume is getting tossed in the garbage to never see the light of day again.  And that doesn’t even get into the inadequate materials they are using to build their sandwiches; they are a joke.

Not to say Jimmy Johns is on the top of my list, but I can tell ya they are no where near Subway. Who is your team ordering from for the pre/post game sammies?

P-Mac’s Rankings for fast food sammies

1.       Potbelly- everything from the service to the brand and the materials used, Potbelly is my number one.  Their shakes are NOT BAD either, sign me up.

2.       Firehouse Subs- They have great sandwiches but on top of that, this for me is a brand play.  With my old man being a retired fireman I love what they have going on inside of their locations

3.       Jersey Mikes- They do bulk orders for large groups maybe better than anyone.  Really good sandwiches, great for teams, and another brand I can get behind.

4.       Portillo’s- Kind of forgot this place as we don’t have too many of them in MN, but an elite sandwich.  But for this blog, this probably isn’t a great pre game sandwich option even for a coach if you have any kind of stomach that I have…I’d be streaming the game from a porta potty

5.       Jimmy Johns- For the price point, freaky fast service, and just an all around solid sandwich with solid sides…you can never go wrong with JJs.  Obviously a go to place for me during the season.

6.       Quiznos- Honestly have only had this place like twice in my life, there’s no locations near me that I am aware of.  Solid sandwich I remember, reliable brand, but can’t really comment further.

7.       Which which- Was this a one hit wonder type place?  I remember these poppin up like bitcoin, but haven’t ran into one of these since high school.  I remember them having a decent sandwich, an elite shake, and it being over priced AF!

8.       Who’d I miss? Put them here

Worst sandwich place ever- Subway.  Easy choice, not even close.  Terrible brand with even worse service and a crappy end product.  Never going back, don’t ask me to go there, and if PL wants to order subs from here this spring, I RESPECTFULLY decline.

Where’s your team’s go to sub place during the szn?
